[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Could you confirm that the monitor is V2 with mini USB connector?” style=”arrow”]Yes, all current Waterrowers with the S4 monitor will include the miniUSB connection. This V2 feature has been available for quite a few years now and is not a new feature.
Answer #1 on September 14, 2018
The WaterRower Classic is handcrafted in solid American black walnut and features the S4 Performance Monitor. S4 has a USB port
Answer #2 on September 14, 2018[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Does this come with a workout dvd like on waterrower’s site?” style=”arrow”]They used to offer workout DVDs but they were discontinued about 5 years ago. You do get free workouts on the Smart Row App but must purchase of the Smart Row Upgrade Kit. You can also get Group Fitness Classes with CityRow Go App (Monthly Fee) and the purchase of a WaterRower ComModule.
Answer #1 on December 6, 2021[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Is this suitable for someone 6′ 4“?? 200 lbs??” style=”arrow”]Yes, absolutely. I am 6’4 and 220 and my wife is 5’2. it fits us both. Perfect for me. Excellent machine. Outstanding quality. Love it.
Answer #1 on February 27, 2015[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Do I have to stain it or does it come pre-stained?” style=”arrow”]It comes pre-stained. The wood is American black walnut. Black Walnut may vary in color from a rich brown to purple-black. Each rowing machine has been hand finished with three coats of Danish Oil giving a deep lustre and warmth to the wood.
Answer #1 on August 17, 2020
It’s already stained. They include a small amount of oil, in case you need refresh the finish. I’ve had mine for 5 years, and haven’t needed to. But if you keep it outdoors, exposed to water, wind, and sun, you might need to treat it more frequently.
Answer #2 on August 17, 2020[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Is the waterrower classic compatible with rowpro?” style=”arrow”]The RowPro software is exclusive to the Concept2 brand of rowing machines. Waterrower offers their own version of rowing software.
Answer #1 on December 29, 2017[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Are the wheels non marking rubber – something like rollerblade wheels?” style=”arrow”]I took one and scrubbed as hard as I could on tile, oak and bamboo floors. Couldn’t make any marks. I don’t think they are rubber, I think they are some kind of polyurethane.
Answer #1 on March 22, 2016
Yes. The wheels don’t leave any marks. I have mine on a hardwood floor and there is no sign the WaterRower was there when I move it.
Answer #2 on March 22, 2016
I believe so. We use it on hardwood floors and have never had a problem. With that being said, we didnt move it all that often. Its a good rower though.
Answer #3 on March 22, 2016[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Does sweat affect the wood over time; cosmetically or otherwise?” style=”arrow”]Keep it oiled and the sweat doesn’t affect it. It’s walnut – a very hard wood. Occasionally (quarterly, maybe) wipe it down with Danish oil and it will look new forever. Danish oil is cheap and readily available in hardware stores.
Answer #1 on April 15, 2020
We’ve had ours for four years, and it’s still beautiful. It comes with a little bit of oil to polish it, as needed. Water and sweat bead up on it. It just needs a bit dusting to stay clean.

[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Is the resistance adjustable, can one manually lower or increase the resistance themselves?” style=”arrow”]The overall level of resistance can be adjusted by the level of the water in the tank up to about 1/2 of a tank according to the graduation marks on the side of the tank. Filling it more than that doesn’t really do anything for resistance and can cause leaking problems when it is stored in the upright position.
Realistically, for multiple users, it would be a pain to change the water levels between usages.
A better way to adjust resistance is by intensity.
Rowing is intensity based.
To row a boat faster, you row harder.
How does this relate to the rowing machine?
Let’s compare it to walking which is also intensity based.
Strolling, walking, brisk walking, jogging, running, sprinting are all easy to hard depending how much effort you are putting into it.
With rowing, how hard you drive with your legs, how hard you pull with your arms, that is what determines your intensity (Resistance).
Ever notice if you are rowing a boat or paddling a canoe or kayak, how hard it gets if you try to pull the paddle/oar faster through the water?
That’s how the resistance works on the Waterrower. Any more questions, feel free to contact us.
