Answer #1 on January 13, 2014[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How much weight can it hold?” style=”arrow”]I usually do 140-200 pounds
Answer #1 on August 1, 2014[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What gear lubricant is needed to get the gears moving smoother ( had it a few years) and for general upkeep? where can I find the oil?” style=”arrow”]Spray some silicone lubricant onto a rag and wipe down the chrome upright that the weight slide up/down on. Also wipe down the cables with the silicone as well.
Answer #1 on May 21, 2018[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Do you need a separate Olympic plate adapter or is it made for Olympic plates?” style=”arrow”]It is made for standard plates out of the box but adapters can be added. You can put Olympic plates on this but they will tend to wobble a bit as the hole on Olympic plates is 2 inches in diameter as opposed to the 1 inch standard plate hole.
Answer #1 on September 1, 2017[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can you do pull ups on this machine? Thanks.” style=”arrow”]No, you can not
Answer #1 on January 23, 2016[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”How much weight can this hold? I will easily need 2-3 45 plates on each side.” style=”arrow”]This unit has a maximum capacity of 300 LBS
Answer #1 on January 10, 2019[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Will bumper plates fit this machine, around the size of the average 45lb plate” style=”arrow”]Derrick, bumper plates will indeed fit on the machine. Do know though that the weight horns are 1″ diameter and you’ll need an adapter sleeve to use 2″ diameter weights.
Answer #1 on April 7, 2017[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Does the machine comes with weights? If so how many? Also what is the diameter that needs to be on the weights so they can fit perfectly please thank you.” style=”arrow”]These units do not come with weights. The post they have on them are 1″, so they fit standard weight plates without using an adapter. If you have Olympic plates with a 2″ hole, you can purchase an Olympic adapter to slide on the post. Hope that helps.
Answer #1 on May 23, 2014[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What size Olympic adaptor sleeves do you need? 14“ or 8“” style=”arrow”]8″ is more than enough-if you’re bionic woman you need 14″
Answer #1 on December 20, 2014[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Is there a ratio to the weight loaded vs weight pulled? Often lat pulldowns are not 1:1 but 2:1 (so you load 90 lbs of weight but feel only 45 lb).” style=”arrow”]I’m not entirely sure, but the pulley configuration is almost identical to the SLM300G lat pull which is a 1:1 ratio I believe as I’ve had one in my gym for 20 years and 100# feels like 100#.
Answer #1 on May 29, 2021[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Does the longer pulley go on the top or bottom?” style=”arrow”]the longer pulley goes for the top pull down..
Answer #1 on December 19, 2017[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Im 6’2“ would i get full range of motion with this.” style=”arrow”]Yes you would get full range of motion but the weight bar does handle heavy loads very well. I am 6ft 1″ 230lbs and the bar has bent over time weight on it. I believe that is also do to people dropping the weight down in stead of lowering it down. I did have to have it reinforced
Answer #1 on January 25, 2016[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can you do behind the neck pull downs on this machine?” style=”arrow”]Jackson, yes there shouldn’t be any issues performing behind the neck pulldowns on the GLM83.
Answer #1 on May 18, 2017[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can you do standing tricep extensions?” style=”arrow”]You can do a number of different triceps exercises on this machine. Search the GLM83 on our website for photos and videos. Thanks!
Answer #1 on May 8, 2017[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Has anyone used this machine to do tricep push downs or cable curls also?” style=”arrow”]I do them all the time. This is a very versatile machine. I have a very small garage and I absolutely love how I can move this machine around with ease yet it is sturdy. Very well built.
Answer #1 on May 8, 2017[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What is the height of the machine on the side with the weights (slopes up?)” style=”arrow”]Here are the specs. Width 32.00in Length 60.00in Height 82.00in
Answer #1 on June 30, 2015[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Will 45lb plates work on this machine?” style=”arrow”]I’ve had two 45 lb plates on each side and it was super smooth the entire time. If you are using Olympic weights you will need to get the additional sleeves for each side in order for them to fit properly.
Answer #1 on December 17, 2018[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can you use different attachments on this?” style=”arrow”]Yes you can use different attachments with this machine, because it brings large clips at the cable ends. This allows you to attach other equipment. I have a grip bar that I kept from my last machine and was able to use it with this Body- Solid unit.
Answer #1 on April 11, 2016
I use a wide lat bar, tricep rope, tricep bar, single handles, and a narrow row. Just get carabiners for quick change
Answer #2 on April 11, 2016[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Does the top pulley swivel or is it fixed?” style=”arrow”]The pulleys are fixed on this machine
