Answer #1 on April 29, 2019[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Hi, how stable is this item? Am wanting to build with 4×4’s and threaded rods” style=”arrow”]Structurally, it is solid and unmovable. The design is such that there is zero moment arm anywhere the bar is placed with weight.
Answer #1 on September 3, 2015[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can someone that is 6 foot 8 tall use this to squat or am I too tall?” style=”arrow”]Yeah I’m 6′ 4″ and there’s plenty more room, you’d be fine.
Answer #1 on October 12, 2018[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Are the safeties adjustable at all or stuck at one height? The picture doesn’t seem to show whether or not the safeties can be raised/lowered…” style=”arrow”]The safeties are adjustable. They basically can go to all the same heights as the gunrack.
Answer #1 on June 5, 201[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Do you need to support it with weights on plate holders” style=”arrow”]No. I squat with 300 lbs on the bar and nothing behind and it won’t tip over. Because of the front angle, it’s impossible. It “leans” back on itself.
Answer #1 on August 12, 2019[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”What’s the weight limit on the lower (bench press) catches?” style=”arrow”]It’s absurdly strong, at least for any “reasonable” amount of weight. It doesn’t budge flex or bend under 225lbs and surely seems that it could accommodate a huge amount more. Overall this thing has been wonderful.
Answer #1 on April 1, 2020[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Can i rest an olympic bar with +/- 250lbs on safety/spotter catches while doing shrugs? in other words, I would not used the provided notches,” style=”arrow”]Per the manufacturer Body-Solid both the safety spotter catches and the gun rack catches on the uprights of the GPR370 Multi-Press Rack have a maximum weight capacity rating of 1000 pounds.
Answer #1 on June 13, 2016
Yes I have rested 325lbs on it doing dead lifts well built and sturdy.
Answer #1 on June 11, 2016[/vc_toggle][vc_toggle title=”Does this accommadate different size press bars? Seven (7) foot, Six (6) foot?” style=”arrow”]The Body-Solid Multi-Press Rack will accommodate any 7 foot width bar. For consideration of a 6 foot bar, you would want to make sure that the inside dimensions between the sleeve collars is wide enough to fit into a standard Olympic-width rage or rack. Some 6 foot bars are designed with this in mind, but some have an inside gripping area that is too short to use with a rack like this.
